The Oshkosh Jaycees are hosting a party! Tomorrow, 6/18/09, we are hosting a Jaycees social event to mix with members of other chapters.

If you are not affiliated with the Jaycees but would like to know more or say hi, stop by the gazebo at the top of the hill and ask for President Jes. She’ll buy you a beer

If not, stop by the small shelter at South Park in Oshkosh, where the Oshkosh Jaycees will be holding our monthly meeting! We’ll have beverages and games at 6:00, dinner around 6:30, and the meeting at 7:00.

Come down to Oblio’s to meet the Jaycees, get a wrap-up report on the Easter Egg Hunt, and sign up for our upcoming Brat Fry and Waterfest nights!

Every February, the bravest (or craziest!) Oshkosh Jaycees gather their warmest clothes, a golf club, a tennis ball and their friends and head to Menominee Park in Oshkosh for…Ice Golf!

Want to see some crazy Jaycees playing golf in February?

We’ll start at St. Thomas Bar, 693 Main St., Oshkosh, at 9:00 a.m. for a warm-up drink.

At 10:00 a.m., we head to Miller’s Bay in Menominee Park.  (Take Main St. to E. Irving Ave. and park by the docks.)  Bring one golf club of your choice and one tennis ball!  The course will be laid out.

After about an hour and a half, we’ll head to Terry’s Lounge, 688 N. Main St., for a lunch and drinks.

We are a group of energetic, fun-loving, 21 - 40-year-olds in the Oshkosh, WI area.  We get together once a month to network, socialize, and talk about events in the community that we are or should be involved with.

We coordinate three popular community events every year.  The Easter Egg Hunt is a free event for kids in the Oshkosh area, attended by over 1,000 kids a year.  2009 will be the 10th anniversary of this great event!  In July, we host Brews n’ Blues, a brew festival and blues concert, and all proceeds go back to the community.  The Children’s Day Parade is a great Oshkosh tradition the Jaycees are happy to carry on for the 76th straight year.

Our mission is:  To provide an organized social network where young adults have the oportunity to improve personal, leadership, and management skills through peer-to-peer learning and actual experience by providing assistance to the Oshkosh community through public event coordination, volunteer support, and charitable redistribution of funds for the betterment of the community.
